Episode Summary
Have you ever felt trapped between fear and the unknown—like there is no way forward and no way back?
In this powerful episode, Kathy walks through Exodus 14 and the moment Israel stood at the Red Sea. What looked like disaster was actually God’s positioning for victory. Through Scripture, theology, and practical reflection, this episode reveals how God works in our most impossible moments—and how faith often looks like stillness before movement.
If you are facing uncertainty, pressure, or a season that feels overwhelming, this message will help you rediscover trust, surrender, and courageous obedience.
Key Scriptures
- Exodus 14:9–14 – “Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.”
- Exodus 13:17–18 – God leads His people the longer way for their protection.
- Exodus 14:15–22 – The command to go forward and the parting of the Red Sea.
- Exodus 14:27–28 – God closes the sea over Israel’s enemies.
- Isaiah 43:19 – God makes a way in the wilderness.
- Romans 8:28 – God works all things for good and for His glory.
Core Teaching Themes
1. God Positions You Before He Delivers You
Israel felt trapped, but God had already arranged the victory.
What looks like danger may actually be divine strategy.
2. Fear Causes Spiritual Forgetfulness
Fear makes us forget:
- What God already did
- What God already promised
- Who God truly is
Faith remembers.
3. The Sovereignty of God in Impossible Moments
God:
- Moves kings and nations
- Hardens and softens hearts
- Orchestrates outcomes for His glory
Even when life looks chaotic, God is still in control.
4. The Rhythm of Faith: Stillness → Obedience
First:
“Stand still.”
Surrender control. Stop striving. Trust God.
Then:
“Go forward.”
Take the next obedient step when God speaks.
Faith is not constant motion—it is responsive obedience.
5. God Doesn’t Always Remove the Sea—He Makes a Way Through It
Sometimes God:
- Does not eliminate the obstacle
- Transforms it into a pathway
- Reveals Himself as Deliverer in the process
The Red Sea becomes the place where God is most clearly seen.
Five Practical Lessons from Exodus 14
1. Name the fear—but don’t obey it.
Fear is real, but it is not your leader.
2. Stand still and surrender control.
Release the outcome to God.
3. Watch for God’s next instruction.
God gives the next step, not the whole map.
4. Go forward with obedient faith.
You don’t need perfect faith—just willing faith.
5. Let God receive the glory.
Impossible moments reveal an undeniable God.
Encouragement for Today
If you feel stuck—no way forward, no way back—
the Red Sea is not where God abandons you.
It is where He reveals Himself.
“Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.”
— Exodus 14:13
